Recreational pools are often set up with specific swimming and diving areas. Do not swim in the diving area or dive in the designated swim area. Pools change depth rather quickly, so be aware of where these changes are. Some pools are on a gradual decline, while others change from shallow end to deep end with a sudden drop. Most have depth signs written on the side of the pool walls.
Swimming is an enjoyable way to spend a hot summer afternoon. Being aware of pool safety hazards and rules will make the experience more fun and less stressful for everyone involved.
Walk on the pool deck. Running on slippery concrete is dangerous and can cause falls.
