Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated every year with people dressing in green colored clothing, brandishing four leaf clovers and drinking green beer. Most non-Irish people think it is fun to pretend that they are Irish on this day just to have a reason to party, but who is this saint that people celebrate every year?

The consequence, however, was that in an America controlled by a Protestant power base, they would be subject to ridicule, with political cartoonists often portraying the Irish-Catholic revelers as violent, drunk monkeys.

Although In Ireland Saint Patrick's Day has always traditionally been a religious celebration, over time the prohibition of eating meat for Lenten was eased for the day, and the Irish turned the day of their patron saint into a celebration of drinking, dancing and eating a traditional Irish meal of bacon and cabbage.
