If you can afford then take out a day from your schedule when you would not go anywhere and do nothing. If reading is your passion then find a spot where you can just be yourself. Then spend your afternoon reading your favourite author. Here are a few places that are the best to spend a quiet time in Paris.
The China House
Though Paris does not have many number of Starbucks shops as they have them in America, but there are many other social venues in Paris where you would love to spend a couple of hours during afternoons. The China House (La Maison de la Chine) situated at 76 rue Bonaparte is one such place to pass time reading a book and sipping a cup of coffee or tea. Open from 3:00 to 7:00 (Monday to Saturday) the tea house gives you opportunity to taste some of the finest traditional Chinese teas like Longjing, Shuixian and Tieguanyin along with cream cookies.
Besides tea or coffee, if you wish to enjoy a lunch at that place then head towards Shanghai Caf that offers a mix of Chinese and Thai cuisines and is open between 12:30 and 2:30 pm.
Les Jardins du Luxembourg

However, this place is also for a beautiful miniature park which is a peaceful place to spend some quality time amidst mid-size trees lined around the park.
Not only this, you can also enjoy some classical and jazz formations which are played under the nearby arcades during summers.
