Any witness to their performance must be advised; their wisdom penetrates the emotional fires they initiate, their literary brilliance ignites the heart and soul of even the most skeptical viewer.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, the performing duo Climbing Poetree is climbing up the underground charts in cities worldwide, bringing an East Coast artistry spin on such sensitive topics as truth, awareness, and love. With an emphasis on social and political topics, the words of the poems are as powerful as they are performed; through a dynamic channel of raw energy and intelligent passion [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Poetree's messages ring loud and clear.
In addition to performing, Alixa and Naima are also committed to hosting workshops on self-expression and creativity. The education they offer is one based upon art being a medium for political education and social healing. They also share their famed poetry skills, and teach performance, media studies, and art healing.

At the forefront of this dynamic cooperative are Alixa and Naima [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], two creative visionaries on a mission to infiltrate public schools, prisons, and entire communities in an effort to challenge mainstream ideals, violence, and media misrepresentation. Completely self-organized, this duo has traveled to over 70 cities world-wide, performing for audiences of all backgrounds.
Together, Alixa and Naima have a vast experience in performing, teaching, and activism. Their multi-talented artistry skills allowed them access to their premier tour, which was launched in July of 2003. This four-month journey featured mutlimedia dance and poetry performances which illustrated the controversial subject of the War on Drugs and its global effects on Columbia's farmlands and American ghetto societies.
