Meanwhile, Sookie has a vision. She wakes up in her hospital bed wearing a diaphanous,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], flowery dress. A crystal glass is sitting on her bed-table. Carrying the glass, she follows a trail of rose petals down the hall to a door that opens onto a sunny glade. Actually, what it looks like is the setting for some kind of ridiculous fashion spread. Chandeliers hang from the trees and pretty people cavort about in floaty white clothes. Everything glows or sparkles.
In the back of Alcide’s van, Sookie slices open her forearm and holds it to Bill’s mouth. She’s relieved when he starts sucking, but her relief turns to alarm as he clamps on to her like a limpet. He pins her to the floor and feeds in earnest, while the most she can do is feebly flap her hand against his side in protest as he drains her. It’s a very disturbing scene.
Alcide stops the truck for a pee break, and Tara knocks on the back to check on Sookie. When there’s no response, she hauls up the door and sees Sookie on the floor, unconscious. Bill wakes up and asks, “What happened?” Tara kicks him out into the sunlight and leaves him there as they drive hell for leather for the nearest hospital. Bill is surprised to suffer very little damage from the sun,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], though his body is smoking (insert joke here) by the time he heads for the woods.
Back in Bon Temps, Jason pesters Lafayette for some crystal meth – not for him, he explains, but to give to the guy in jail. Lafayette says he doesn’t sell that shit and, even if he did, wouldn’t sell it to Jason. “Goddamn it, Lafayette! I’m in love!” complains Jason. “With the dude in jail?” asks Lafayette. As Jason is explaining, Tara phones from the hospital. By the time Jason and Lafayette arrive, things look grim. Everyone is choked up at the thought of losing Sookie, especially Jason, who has no other family.

Sookie is rushed into the OR, but the blood transfusion makes her convulse. A mystified doctor explains to Tara and Alcide that Sookie “doesn’t have a blood type”.
A woman calling herself Claudine greets Sookie by name and brings her to a glowy pond to refill her cup with shiny glowiness. Claudine is surprised when Sookie enthuses about the taste: “You’ve had it before,” she says. More pretty people emerge from the pond, which Claudine says is “bigger and deeper than you think”. Sookie dances happily with the pretty twirling people, and Claudine invites her to come to their home, which is reached through the pond. Sookie panics, because her parents died in a flood and she can’t swim. Claudine hears her thoughts and thinks at her, “It wasn’t the water that killed them.”
As Sookie is dreaming this, Bill arrives at the hospital. He says his blood can heal Sookie, and Jason gives him the go-ahead over Tara’s objections. Bill disconnects
Sookie Goes to Disneyland
Before she can tell Sookie what did, a shadow falls over the glade. “The dark approaches!” warns Claudine, and people start disappearing into the pool. She urges Sookie to come with them. “It’s not safe for you anymore,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],” she says. “He will steal your light.” But Sookie balks at following these strangers, no matter how prettily dressed they are. With a final “Do not let him take it from you”, Claudine disappears into the pool, leaving Sookie alone in the dark. Without the glowy, sparkly lights, we can see she’s in the Bon Temps cemetery.
