The beat slows down with “Just a Feeling,” with more high notes from Levine, and sad “no sunshine, no sunshine” lyrics. The mid-tempo “Runaway” makes use of layered vocals in its verses, but keeps the album’s funky vibe.
Popular country group Lady Antebellum is featured on “Out of Goodbyes,” and the country influence, with a little bit of twang, is evident throughout the song. Levine’s and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott’s voices mesh well together. This ballad is definitely the most atypical of any track on Hands All Over, but it is also one of the album’s most memorable songs.

Adam Levine comes across as sincere as he sings “How,” and drawn out notes help convey the longing and frustration described in the song. “Get Back in My Life,” with its funky and groovy beat, is similar to some of the earlier tracks on Hands All Over.

Listeners will feel anything but misery when listening to the funky and uptempo first single off Hands All Over, “Misery,” a track written by lead singer Adam Levine, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, and Sam Farrar. The song is typical Maroon 5 and similar to some of the band’s past hits, such as “This Love.”

Another upbeat track is “Don’t Know Nothing,” which oozes a Motown vibe. The refrain in “Never Gonna Leave This Bed” is reminiscent of Five for Fighting’s popular “100 Years [link widoczny dla zalogowanych],” and Maroon 5’s mid-tempo track also has the potential to become a hit.
The band keeps the music grooving with “Give a Little More,” a throwback to the disco era. Its infectious beat will get listeners up on their feet. “Stutter” is another catchy tune to sing along to, with every held out “know” and “go.”
“I Can’t Lie” makes for easy listening, and Levine glides into his upper register for parts of the chorus. Title track “Hands All Over” is one of the album’s most rock-filled numbers with some guitar riffs, a hypnotizing refrain, and a hard-hitting beat.
