class="dynamic">HEALTHY EATING IDEAS
Incorporating vegetarian dishes into your diet can help increase your chances of feeling healthier- added with some walking or swimming in the summer, you may lose a few inches off of the waist line. Asian Indian cuisine has risen in popularity over the past ten years around the United States because much of it is vegetarian dishes. A good majority of the Asian Indian country do eat vegetarian on a regular basis for religious reasons, including families living in the United States. The meals eaten in the home are different often than what you might find in the restaurant.
A wide variety of beans (legumes), lentils ( masoor (Lens culinaris) [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], considered a type of pulse, is a bushy annual plant of the legume family, grown for its lens-shaped seeds) are available on the market in your local grocer or via internet. There are so many uses for the wonderful protein and fiber packed bites, you cannot but help to find many recipe uses for them.
There is still so much to explore as far as ingredients in Asian or foreign foods are concerned. Markets are beginning to follow trends and carry many ingredients only restaurants might serve. Chinese cabbage and Tinda Squash are two examples of Asian vegetables now available. Cooking dinner does not have to be all about meat and potatoes, which is fine, but adding something new to you or your family’s diet can be fun and a healthy alternative.

How to Cook with Beans
Global restaurant cuisines have become trendy, but not all food eaten out is so healthy. Cooking at home allows more control over your salt, fat, carbs, and seasonings. For example stir frying has been popular for years, long before Asian Indian and Ethiopian foods came into the limelight. Many times it is apparent in the restaurant how much oil and carbs are presented to fill up the consumer in foreign dishes. Portion size is also presented much larger than what dietary requirements suggest- according to the eating pyramid many are familiar with here in the Up Ingredients In Your Meal Plan
Many times the food you see in Indian restaurants is not the same as their foods cooked in the home. ‘Dry’ curry is a common practice by using spices and herbs with vegetables along with a dab of yogurt to tone down the spice. The Indian families often eat lots of dal or lentils with rice [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and their version of our tortillas, roti. If these cuisines seem spicy, then simply take away the key ingredient- chilies, which is the heat, and you create a tasty diversion from your routine of American Cuisine. Unless of course you were brought up in a first, second, or even third generation immigrant of this century.
Try using this new and favorite Indian treat (mung bean salad eaten for holiday gatherings- not usually found in restaurants) in a salad, tacos, or over pasta. Replace a few heavy lunches or dinner meals with a salad and this ingredient, you should begin noticin
Sprouting one such lentil, the mung bean or moong dal- also known as green bean [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], mung, mongo, moong, moog dal (in Bengali), mash bean, munggo or monggo, green gram, golden gram, and green soy, is the seed of Vigna radiata which is native to Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. Simply pour one or more cups of this green bean into a flat (non aluminum pan) container, rinse and remove any rocks or debris, then just cover them with water and plastic wrap, and place them near a warm area. In about a day and half you begin to see small sprout shoots coming out the middle, and when they get to be ¼ an inch, they are ready to eat. You may have to sprinkle more water if it is too warm.
