me introduce to you the future of television, the LCD. The LCD television has a flat panelled sleek design, much like the flat panel computer monitors used everywhere these days [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but have been fine tuned for video displays. Recent developments in the LCDs allow for an even better viewing experience with their larger screens, wider viewing angles and higher quality video images. LCD TVs are now able to rival the Plasma televisions as they are lighter & far more durable.
Nowadays all LCD TVs offer progressive scan & sleek sexy designs. They also provide you with all of the input options that you should desire, adding to their resourcefulness. Most of the LCD TVs can now double as computer displays or monitors by allowing standard analog VGA (PC) or even DVI digital input, a great option if you need your television to multitask and save space. Speaking of space, you can also wall mount these unique TVs as well as have them free stand on your cabinet.
An LCD Television is sometimes referred to as a ‘transmissive' display―light isn't created by the liquid crystals themselves; a light source behind the panel shines light through the LCD Television display. A white diffusion panel behind the LCD redirects and scatters the light evenly to ensure a uniform image.
The LCD television display consists of two polarizing transparent panels and a liquid crystal solution sandwiched in between. The screen's front layer of glass is etched on the inside surface in a grid pattern to form a template for the layer of liquid crystals.
Liquid crystals are rod-shaped molecules that bend light in response to an electric current ― the crystals align so that light cannot pass through them. Each crystal acts like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light. The pattern of transparent and dark crystals forms the image. It's the same display technology behind your digital watch but way more sophisticated.
LCD TVs are using what is called an ‘active matrix LCD'. These designs are based on the TFT or Thin Film Transmitters arranged on the thin glass substrate. Their function is to switch on and off the LCD's pixels, creating colour. Perhaps what is considered the greatest challenge [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and opportunity for LCD manufacturers, is the response time of each pixel. Developing a process that can allow the pixels to change colour without blurring at incredible speeds remains the only drawback of many LCDs.
So how have LCDs revolutionized the television industry? By sheer technological brilliance [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that's how!
